R-6124 RESOLUTION NO. 6124 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOULDER CITY, APPROVING CLOSURE OF THE DRY LAKEBED IN THE ELDORADO VALLEY TRANSFER AREA FROM 6:00 A.M. JULY 3RD THROUGH 6:00 A.M. JULY 5TH OF EACH YEAR, AND OTHER MATTERS PROPERLY PERTAINING THERETO. WHEREAS, Article II, Section 19 of the Boulder City Charter, in pertinent part, grants to the City Council the power to make and pass resolutions, not repugnant to the Constitution of the United States or of the State of Nevada or to the provisions of the Boulder City Charter, necessary for the municipal government and the management of the city affairs, for the execution of all powers vested in the City and for making effective the provisions of the Boulder City Charter; and WHEREAS, Title 7, Chapter 5 of the Boulder City Code governs Public Land Use within the incorporated limits of the City of Boulder City; and WHEREAS, Section 7-5-4 of the Boulder City Code gives the City Council general supervision over the operation and maintenance of all public parks and undeveloped land within the City; and WHEREAS, Section 7-5-5 of the Boulder City Code commands the Boulder City Council to adopt by resolution certain rules and regulations to govern the use of and hours of use, restrictions or limitations of use and conduct and closures thereof for the purpose of maintaining public health, safety and general welfare; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boulder City hereby finds that closing that certain undeveloped land commonly known as the dry lakebed area of the Eldorado Valley Transfer Area from 6:00 a.m. July 3rd through 6:00 a.m. July 5th of each and every year hence forth, will promote public safety and the general welfare of the people of Boulder City by eliminating hazards to the public and liability to the City that may occur during celebration of the Fourth of July each year at the dry lakebed. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Resolution No. 6124, a resolution of the City Council of Boulder City, approving closure of the dry lakebed in the Eldorado Valley Transfer Area from 6:00 a.m. July 3rd through 6:00 a.m. July 5th of each year is hereby reviewed, deliberated and approved.
