<br />RESOLUTION NO. 5210 <br />RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF BOULDER CITY, NEVADA REPEALING RESOLUTION <br />NO. 4739 AND ADOPTING NEW ELECTRICAL UTILITY REBATES IN <br />BOULDER CITY, NEVADA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the City has an existing Rebate Program adopted In March 2006; and <br /> <br />the City desires to adopt a new program; and <br /> <br />recent minimum Federal requirement in efficiencies and new technologies warrant <br />updating Boulder City's rebate program; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Boulder City does <br />hereby authorize the implementation of a rebate program, which provides incentive, rebates via six <br />options, (A, B, C, D, E, F, and G below) for the purpose of encouraging energy efficiency and fuel <br />switching among all consumers. <br /> <br />A. Applicable to Heat Pumps, Air Conditioners and Gas Pack heating and cooling units. <br />Rebates based on capacity (12,000 BTU/TON and seasonal energy efficiency ratings, <br />(S.E.E.R.). Customer must replace a minimum of one and one half tons of existing <br />refrigerated air conditioning, (evaporated coolers excluded). <br /> <br />1. Rebates in the amount of $70.00 per ton for residential air conditioners with a <br />S.E.E.R. rating of 14.0 to 14.9. <br />2. Rebates in the amount of $125.00 per ton for residential or commercial air <br />conditioners with a S.E.E.R. of 15.0 or greater. <br />3. Rebates in the amount of $50.00 perton for mobile homes only with a S.E.E.R. rating <br />of 13.0 to 13.9. <br /> <br />B. Applicable to all electric domestic water heaters. <br /> <br />1. Rebates in the amount of $200.00 per electric water tank (40 gallons or greater), <br />converted to natural gas. <br />2. Rebates in the amount of $200.00 per household for the installation of solar water <br />heating to supplement electric domestic water heaters. A Minimum of 40 gallons of <br />solar storage is required. <br /> <br />C. Energy efficient window treatments. <br /> <br />1 . Rebates in the amount of $.50 per square foot for the installation of solar screens on <br />west facing windows. Solar screens must have shading co-efficient of not greater <br />than .4. <br />2. Rebates in the amount of $.50 per square foot for the installation of window film on <br />west facing windows. Rebate based on shading co-efficient of not greater of .45 and <br />reflectivity of not greater than 40% (.4). <br /> <br />D. Applicable to residents that install evaporative coolers to supplement refrigerated central air <br />
